Judge Thomas H. Scuccimarra presently serves as a Judge of the Court of Claims of the State of New York. He was nominated to this position by Governor George E. Pataki in April of 2001 and was reappointed to a nine-year term in June of 2006. He sits as a paragraph “A” Judge for the Court of Claims at 140 Grand Street, White Plains, NY and 26 Broadway, New York, New York. Judge Scuccimarra has been a member of the judiciary for over 21 years and has presided over five (5) different courts in the State of New York.

He graduated from the Long Island University/Southampton College in 1970 (B.A.) and the Vermont Law School in 1977. After being admitted to the NYS Bar and the Eastern and Southern Division of the Federal U.S. District Courts in 1978, he engaged in the general practice of law in the Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess County area for over 22 years. He served as the Town Justice for the Town of Philipstown, County of Putnam from 1985 to 2000; the Acting Village Justice for the Village of Cold Spring from 1984 to 2000 and the Acting Village Justice for the Village of Nelsonville from 1986 to 2000. In March of 2000 he was nominated by Governor Pataki to fill a vacancy on the Putnam County Court and then served as a “Multi-Hat” County Court Judge presiding over Family, Criminal and Surrogate matters.

Judge Scuccimarra served as President of the Peekskill City Bar Association in 1984 and as President of the Putnam County Magistrate's Association from 1989 to 1992. He was one of the original members of the Town of Philipstown Conservation Advisory Counsel and was on the Board of Trustees of the Butterfield Memorial Hospital in Cold Spring, New York.

He serves on the Ninth Judicial District Committee to Promote Gender Fairness in the courts and is on the Board of Directors of the White Plains Bar Association and the Columbian Lawyers Association of Westchester County. He is a member of the National Judge's Association, the New York State Magistrate's Association, the Historical Society of the Courts of the State of New York and the New York State Bar Association.
